Sub-Saharan Africa is still challenged by the heavy death toll caused by poverty related diseases (PRDs) such as HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria and other Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).
Build regional, national, institutional and individual capacities through:
Focused-skill trainings, Mentorship and scientific leadership development,
Promotion of South-South and North-South collaborations,
Foster relations between researchers, communities and policy makers
to maximize the impact of clinical research in in the region.
Set the stage for the conduct of high quality clinical trials and health research in the sub-region.
Network to exchange information or services in view to build mutually
beneficial relationships to strengthen and sustain the network.

The West African Networ for TB, AIDS and Malaria (WANETAM) was founded in July 2009 and par of the EDCTP 2 programme.
Our main objective of WANETAM 2 is to build regional, national, institutional and individual capacities to conduct clinical trials in line with Good Clinical Practices.
Owing to the steady support of the EDCTP, we are now a renowned collaborative research platform attracting more and more scientists within the sub region.
